Riverland Community College used a dominant first inning to propel past Dakota College at Bottineau, earning a 14–7 victory.
The Blue Devils erupted for eight runs in the bottom of the first to seize early control. Riverland added another run in the fourth before putting the game away with a five-run sixth inning.
Despite finishing with seven hits, Riverland capitalized on its opportunities by drawing seven walks and consistently applying pressure offensively.
Peyton Ransom led the way with three RBI, including a triple, while Christiaan Koehler also tripled and drove in three runs. Roland Figueroa added three RBI, and Carson Gehrke contributed two hits and a run scored.
Additional production came throughout the lineup, with Raul Martinez, Jonathan Mora, Austin Swenson, and Ethan Mott each recording an RBI.
On the mound, Melvin Ortiz earned the win, tossing six innings and allowing just two earned runs while striking out five. Roland Figueroa closed out the game with a scoreless inning in relief.
