Blue Devils Volleyball Pick Up Huge Conference Victory Over Western Tech

Riverland Women's Volleyball defended its home court with a 3–1 victory over Western Technical College on Friday night, winning by set scores of 25–20, 14–25, 25–21, and 25–15.

Riverland came out strong in the opening set, hitting .200 as a team behind six kills from Brea Belting (Owatonna, MN) and steady setting from Macey Johnson (Chandler, AZ), who finished with 30 assists on the night. After dropping the second set, the Blue Devils regrouped and controlled play in the final two frames, sealing the match with a dominant fourth set.

Brienna Brewer (Rapid City, SD) paced the Riverland attack with a match-high 13 kills, adding two service aces and 11 digs for 16 total points. Brenna Grade (Wausau, WI) was efficient at the net, tallying 10 kills with just one error to hit .429 while contributing on three blocks. Belting added six kills and two aces, while Kyana Hutchinson chipped in five kills and eight digs.

Defensively, Isis Walters (Faribault, MN) anchored the back row with a team-high 10 digs, and the Blue Devils out-dug Western Tech 46–0, as the Cavaliers did not record official stats in the match.

Riverland finished the night with 36 kills, 10 aces, and nine team blocks, holding Western Tech in check and closing out its second home win of the season.

The Blue Devils (5-3) Overall & (2-1 - 2nd Place) MCAC South return to action tomorrow afternoon against Anoka Ramsey.
