Riverland Picks Up Opening Round Playoff Win 108-56 Over Mesabi Range

Riverland Community College picked up a crucial NJCAA North Plains District & Region XIII Tournament opening round win over Mesabi Range 108-56 in Coon Rapids, MN.

Riverland wasted no time asserting control, building a 45-18 halftime advantage behind defensive pressure and efficient offensive execution. The Blue Devils continued to push the tempo in the second half, pouring in 63 points to secure the 52-point victory.

The Blue Devils shot 50.6% from the field and 37.1% from three-point range while dominating the glass 57-28, including 22 offensive rebounds. Riverland also forced 19 turnovers and limited Mesabi Range to just 32.3% shooting and 2-of-19 from beyond the arc.

Sophomore guard Lubab Kambalo (Sioux Falls, SD) led the RCC attack pouring in a game-high 24 points (6-13 3PT). Sophomore forward Tristan Coleman (Maywood, IL) notched a double-double with 13 points & snatched 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Tyson Helms (Tucson, AZ) 12 points, 5 rebounds & 4 assists. Freshman guard Cam Fearon (Margate, FL) 9 points, snatched 6 rebounds & 3 assists. Sophomore forward Joe Poyser (Wildwood, FL) 9 points & 4 rebounds. Sophomore guard Romelle Bell (Chicago, IL) 9 points.

Riverland's depth was on full display as 13 players saw action and 11 found the scoring column. The Blue Devils tallied 18 assists on 39 made field goals, showcasing strong ball movement throughout the contest.

#5 Devils improve to 27-2 (11-1 MCAC South) on the season with the win.
